January 2023

We’re very excited to start the new year with a celebration of Kany J. Henry who as well as being a very active member of our community, is also very helpful in moderating the Artist Community! Since Translation Missions started he has also been one of the most active contributors. Get to know him more with the following interview.

Hey Kany, first of all, thank you so much for your contribution accross different Musixmatch projects! So, we know you are from Congo-DRC, but since recently you have been a very active translator, why don’t you tell us which languages you worked on the most?

Hello, thank you so much for this opportunity! Most of time I contribute in English, French and Lingala, I translate in English, French, Spanish and Lingala

Was reading translations of lyrics something important for you, while listening to music?

Yes it's was important and was helpful to refer quickly to the lyrics

You joined us in 2017, what is your favorite thing about Musixmatch?

Syncing song is my MxM thing, it's something I always loved to do.

I always planned to learn Spanish but thanks to MxM I used to add knowledge in Spanish language fast, and I got some real friends too here with who we spent much time talking

That’s great to hear! What are your favorite music genres?

I listen to R&B, Pop music, Afrobeats, Trap, Rumba, Country and Afro-Congo

To conclude, what is a song you recently worked on that you are very proud of?

Prayer by Céline Banza

We’re super grateful for Kany’s hard work, and very happy we’re able to celebrate him today.

Think you deserve a shout-out too? I’m sure we’ll agree! Find out how to become a curator and work hard for the chance to see your contributions spotlighted in future editions.
