The return of non-mission contributions in July came with some slight adjustments to the system. Changes made were explained at the time, but we’re continuing to receive questions about the current situation and so we’re taking this chance to neatly provide all answers and clarifications in one place - here! Read below for all the answers you’ve been craving.
Why are my Curator account-submitted contributions not verified?
Your Curator account-submitted contributions are verified, don’t worry! There was previously a messaging error on the website and apps which showed a contradictory message, but it’s now been fixed. Tracks sent from your Curator account are considered ‘Curator Verified’ and are locked to the contributions of accounts with the Curator status or lower.
Why are my contributions not showing on other sites?
As communicated both on Connected and in our Community Slack workspaces when non-mission contributions returned, not all contributions are currently displayed on other sites. This is not, however, because your contributions haven't been verified. It equally doesn’t mean that there’s any technical fault or issue in the system, and so you don’t necessarily need to be worried if you don’t see your contributions reflected on partner sites.
Why can’t I edit my own contributions?
In order to help us monitor the quality of our lyrics catalogue, songs worked on by Curator accounts are now locked to the edits of other Curator accounts. Your account has the Curator status, and so you’ll currently be unable to edit all tracks that already have a Curator lock.
We have implemented additional checks to ensure that other sites that we provide lyrics to receive the best quality content possible. These matters are dynamic and based on our obsession with ensuring the best possible quality of our lyrics. The position described above may change in the future, but for now we thank you all for your understanding and cooperation.
