In order to safeguard the quality of our lyrics catalog and ensure that our community is as engaged and passionate as possible, we recently adjusted our protocol relating to activity-based downgrades for Curator accounts.
Following this, we received a number of questions from the community, and so we’re taking this opportunity to clarify what exactly makes a Curator ‘active’.
A Curator is considered ‘active’ if they have performed any action on a song in the last 3 months. That includes transcribing lyrics, synching an existing contribution, adding structure tags; everything, be it inside or outside the mission system! It’s important to note that ‘activity’ in this context covers only lyrics-based contributions. So if you’re more active in the Slack Channels, or in a non-lyric mission such as Podcasts or Publishing, you’ll have to make sure you’re contributing periodically also to lyrics, in order to maintain an ‘active’ status.
As mentioned at the top of the article, this definition aids us in quality control, and helps make sure that our community of Curators remains vibrant as it is large!
Thank you to all of you who asked this question; we’ll always jump at the opportunity to explain decisions and the reasons behind them. Make sure to keep asking questions, to keep learning. Share your doubts, and wipe them out!
