The short answer is ‘A LOT’, but two words alone make a pretty poor article; read below for a more substantial, yet still snappy, explanation that’ll get new joiners up to speed, and remind seasoned readers of features they may have forgotten!
Lyrics!
How we started and how we continue! Submitting the transcriptions and syncs to your favourite lyrics is not only helpful but also fun! All users who have passed the Musixmatch Academy can publish lyrics to the Musixmatch website, and those craving additional permissions can get them with the Curator status.
Translations!
If you’re a bit of a linguist, there are 2 ways you can show off your skills!
Take the Translation Test and bring your favourite lyrics to your favourite languages, so other users can enjoy them as much as you do!
If you prefer slightly longer-form translations, you can also look into translating our website with Crowdin!
Tagging!
Tagging is all about enriching songs with as much information as possible. Have you ever loved a song so much that listening to it somehow doesn’t feel enough? You want to live the song and know everything about it! Tagging gives apasionados a short cut to the expertise they seek.
You can tag two types of song information with Musixmatch: Structure and Performers. Tagging Performers in particular is a really great way to show support to artists you adore. Subtle but magic-making ad-libs, harmonies, and hums that may otherwise go uncredited can be, literally, highlighted with the Performer Tagging feature!
And if you want to share something more personal still, we got you covered! You can even tag Moods, letting everyone know exactly how you feel about the songs you’re listening to.
