Hey Cansu! Welcome to Connected, our Community blog! I’m really keen to get you connected with the community so why don’t you start by telling us briefly a little bit about yourself?
Being a computer engineer, I started my career as a developer. I made a jump to product management since I wanted to concentrate more on the various aspects on businesses. Fortunately, I can say I am communicative and curious, I officially became a product person after a few years. During my former job experience, I've spent years on building engaging and high-quality mobile and web products for users. I believe now I've found a perfect match here in Musixmatch!
I have a somewhat humorous habit of gesticulating excessively while I'm speaking because I get excited too easily.
Ahahaha I think it's a fantastic habit to have! And for those who may not know, can you describe your new role and give us an idea of what sort of things you’ll be focusing on?
My role at Musixmatch will be all about our valuable community members. From the mobile apps to musixmatch.com, I'll help shape the future of our community experience across Musixmatch platforms.
Understanding the needs of our community and giving them a seamless experience on our platforms to consume and produce accessible music content would be the most important part of being a product manager here. Because I am a loyal member of the Mxm Community as well, this is a very exciting chance for me to get to know our community better and create better products.
Wonderful, it's very exciting for us all! You’ve been with us now for a few weeks, how has your Musixmatch experience been so far?
It's been A-MA-ZING! First, the team is unbelievable. Everyone is incredibly helpful, nice and supportive. Second, people are really passionate about what we are building here, and it's not so hard to understand why. Because we talk about the artists, music, lyrics, podcasts, etc. all day long!
It's been equally amazing to spend these weeks so closely with you! We're so excited to welcome you to the team <3 Can you tell us a little bit about your music taste? What kind of genres/artists do you enjoy?
I would say progressive rock/metal, classical and also synthpop and jazz. Basically anything that feels good! But I have a guilty pleasure of listening to Turkish Rap from time to time :)
My favorite artist is Pink Floyd
Rock on! Obviously we’re all lyrics lovers here and spend a lot of our days thinking about them. Can you share a few of your favorite lyrics with us?
This is so hard! But there is one that gets me every time:

A classic and a really solid choice! We talk a lot about ‘connecting’ here on the blog, but what do you do to ‘disconnect’ after a long day?
I love cooking with a good company (mostly with nice music), doing yoga and taking a loooong walk.
