Tools for the Summer

August is a typically slow month in Italy, as hot days draw people away from bustling cities and towards breezy beaches. Planet Musixmatch, however, keeps spinning as normal and our Techies are here to share some good news you may have missed from recent updates and releases.

Linking Up Localizations

A previous issue affecting the integration between Musixmatch platforms and the sites we use to support our localizations has recently been fixed! This means that updates to the website, apps, guidelines and help center that were previously available only in English will now be open for localizations from our talented team of translators. The result will be a Musixmatch which is once more openly accessible all across the globe. If you want to bring a heightened lyrics experience to speakers of your language, check this article for information on how to get started!

Wrong Language Reporting

Forget spring cleaning, this year we’re aiming for a summer clean up of the mission lists! We’ve received reports of many wrong language tracks in the various lists of the mission system and this summer we’ve taken the first steps towards addressing the issue. Specialist accounts are now able to report ‘wrong language’ tracks, moving them from the faulty list to the correct one. We’ll be trialing this returned feature over the coming weeks and will then consider whether or not to extend it to other account types. Either way, tidying up the mission lists has been highlighted as a priority and so you can expect to see improvements before the end of the year!

Faster Fixes for Catalogue Issues

We’ve made some adjustments to our backend catalogue fixing tech and as a result certain issues are now much quicker to fix than they used to be. Track Splits, in particular, are now super speedy; last year a single fix could take up to a week; earlier this year you’d be looking at half an hour for a solution; and now track splits can be delivered in as little as 30 seconds after they’re requested by our moderators. A healthy catalogue means happy music lovers, and so we’ll continue working hard to optimize our tools to deliver the swiftest solutions possible!

And That’s Not All!

The good news will continue in the coming weeks and months as big updates are planned for the apps, website, and mission system alike. These updates will bring some of the fixes you’ve been waiting for, so stay tuned and trust in our Techies!
