The Musixmatch tech team is always looking for ways to improve your experience and keep your account secure.

That’s why we recently rolled out Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). With MFA enabled, your profile, settings, and all your hard-earned contributions stay protected, even if someone gets hold of your password.

While MFA is optional for Curators, we strongly recommend turning it on to safeguard your work. Best of all, it only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

Our tech team strongly recommends using an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator). It is hands down the fastest way to get your codes, generating them instantly right on your phone. It's also our most secure and reliable option, working completely offline, abroad, and anywhere you might not have cellular reception.

Prefer a different route? You can also choose to receive your one-time code via email (sent to the address linked to your account), or SMS (sent directly to your mobile phone).

How to set it up

1. Go to Profile > Manage Account > Privacy > Two-Factor Authentication.
2. Select your preferred method and follow the on-screen steps.
3. If you choose an authenticator app, simply scan the displayed QR code with your app and enter the 6-digit confirmation code.

That’s all there is to it. You can switch or update your method anytime.
