Last year we made the decision to embark on an ambitious project to enhance your website experience. As a result, Musixmatch.com is now faster, cleaner, smarter, and more reliable. This year, our Techies have been focused on bringing that same enhanced experience to our mobile apps and are delighted to share the sweet fruits of their labour with you today! Unify
The Techies’ main mission was to release an app that spoke the same language as the website. The improvements made to our site last year were game changing and we were determined to make sure our loyal app users weren’t left behind! The new iOS and Android apps alike mirror the design of the website and showcase a number of features previously not available for mobile users; you can now keep up to date with upcoming releases, lyrics videos, and (of course) the latest Connected articles, all with just the swipe of a thumb! We’ve also added AI powered ‘Meaning’, ‘Themes’, ‘Moods’ and ‘PG Rating’ descriptions on song pages, so you can dive deeper into the lyrics you love to sing. The unified design embraces the dynamism of our modern world. Whether you’re sitting at home on your laptop or walking to work on your phone, you’ll enjoy a consistent experience that makes you feel at ease!
Clarify
Another benefit of the new app is its new-found clarity. The apps’ ‘Home’ page allows you to smoothly browse the hottest tracks and all data linked to them. The ‘Contribute’ page has also received a makeover, and is now dynamically personalized based on your user type. If you’re already a Curator or Specialist, you’ll be directed to your Mission list. If you’re a Rookie or Graduate, you’ll be notified of your next steps to help you get there. We’ll even share suggestions of empty ‘ready-to-work’ tracks to give you a leg up. Whether your passion lies in contributing to our enhanced lyrics experience, or simply in consuming it, we’ve got you covered! The new design of the apps gives you the clarity you need to get what you want.
Purify
So far I’ve spoken a lot about a lot of NEW. But rest assured, we’ve also been keenly focused on improving the existing features you’re all used to. The occasional crashes of the past should now be much less frequent thanks to a number of backend fixes. Put simply, we’ve given the apps a deep clean, and the new purified experience should see you spending less time finding bugs and more time finding new artists to get obsessed with. Tweaks resulting in a more stable player will also make sure that you’ll be able to enjoy and contribute to the music of those artists without interruption. And one final piece of news before I’ll let you go and check out the new apps for yourself, we’ve improved the app update process, meaning that you’ll get all future fixes and features faster!
