This is some text inside of a div block.

Today, we’re sitting down with Noëlle, one of our Specialists and now also Conductor, to learn more about her journey, her love for music, and what makes the community so special. Let’s dive in!

To start, could you tell us a bit about where you’re from?
I’m from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, but I have a very multicultural background.

And when it comes to contributing on Musixmatch, which languages do you usually work in?
I contribute mostly in English, my native language, and also in Dutch.

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to the most?
I listen to a wide range of genres, from pop to (classic and contemporary) R&B to indie folk. I also enjoy K-pop and Dutch rock.

How did your Musixmatch journey begin?
I joined Musixmatch in January 2023, became a Curator two weeks later, and finally joined the Specialist team in May of the same year.

What’s your favorite thing about being part of Musixmatch?
My favorite thing about Musixmatch is the sense of community between people from all over the world, who are all passionate about the same thing: music. I’ve made many good friends in the two years since I joined. Shoutout to my mentor and dear friend Jen, my “work son” Jannik, and the rest of our Fam. You know who you are!

Do you have a memorable or fun experience related to Musixmatch or music in general that you’d like to share?
I’m always amused when I come across viral Tweets with Spotify screenshots containing lyrics that I or my friends have transcribed. I can get a bit too serious sometimes, so it’s nice to take a step back and see people having fun with our contributions!

Lastly, is there a recent song you’ve worked on that you’re especially proud of?
A recent song I transcribed from the ground up for Musixmatch that I’m proud of is Mad, off Reneé Rapp’s latest album BITE ME. She’s absolutely killing it right now, and I can’t wait to see her on tour next spring. Another recent favorite would be Katseye’s Mean Girls. They are the embodiment of girl power!
