I'll be honest with you - when I first heard Harry Styles was dropping a disco album, my reaction was something between of course he is and please let this be good. Harry has always been an artist who defies expectations - from One Direction heartthrob, to rock-tinged solo debut, to the maximalist pop of Harry's House. But disco? Even for him, that felt like a statement. Fortunately, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. turned out to be exactly the kind of record that justifies both reactions. It's fun, it's bold, and underneath all the glitter and groove, there's a songwriter who, clearly has undeniably, something to say.
The whole album is an exploration - or better, an experiment! Considering Harry's previous work, this one was not at all expected, and damn, the amount of new sounds packed into it. It leans more into a gritty, 80’s alt-rock-ish sound with a spoonful of disco than into pure lyricism - but we appreciate it nonetheless.

Ready, Steady, Go!
Is it the bass line in this one? It probably is. If there was ever a song designed to make you late for work because you simply cannot leave the house until it finishes, this is it. Ready, Steady, Go! is the kind of track that sets the tone for an entire album in under a minute - propulsive, bright, and just a little bit euphoric. Clearly, this isn't Harry playing it safe - this is Harry having the time of his life. Harry isn't easing you in. He's grabbing you by the hand and pulling you onto the dancefloor whether you were ready or not. (Spoiler: you were ready.)

Carla's Song
Those harmonies, those high pitches… Every great disco album needs its quiet moment, and Carla's Song is that and then some. It's the track where the mirror ball stops spinning just long enough for you to feel something real. The party comes to an end, and so does the album. And it does so beautifully:
From your head to your toes
Saw the light in the gold that you discovered
Through your eyes, in awe
Melodies like the tide
It's all waiting there for you
There's an openness here that feels almost vulnerable - like Harry dropping the showmanship for a moment and just… talking to you. This closing track leaves you hanging, a mix between a love letter, a letter to your inner child, or just the appreciation of life itself.
Who knows what the next album will hold, but here the production steps back, the melody steps forward, and Harry reminds us that he didn't just come here to make you dance - he came here to make you feel. A standout, without question.

American Girls
Let’s be real, this one can potentially be a call out to a world we cannot even imagine, all lights and glamour. But the vibes! And the sound! Pure, unfiltered joy. American Girls sounds like a song that has always existed somewhere, floating around in the ether, just waiting for someone to find it and bring it home: imagine a dance party in a rom-com.
"I've known you for ages"
It's all that I've heard
My friends are in love with American girls
I've seen it in stages all over the world
Sure, it may as well be a glimpse into life under the spotlight... But haven’t we at least once imagined how it would be to be THAT famous?
It's the kind of track you put on at the end of a long week and suddenly everything feels a little lighter. If the rest of the album is the disco ball, this one is the whole party.
Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. is Harry Styles at his most confident and, arguably, his most himself. It makes you dance, almost vibrate, and it makes you think. Which, in my opinion, is exactly what a good album should do. It won't be for everyone - but then, the best albums rarely are. If you haven't already, do yourself a favour and give it a listen. Preferably loud, preferably with good company, and definitely with space to dance.I know I can't wait to hear this one live - disco ball and all.
